The Next Gen is Upon Us!

It’s been quite some time since I last posted anything on here, but it’s something I do want to get back into the routine of doing, and so I thought why not kick start it off with something that I’m very passionate about, video games.
It’s that time that only comes around every few years, the next generation of consoles is almost upon us, and the build up to the launches of both the Xbox One, and Playstation 4 make for some of the most exciting times in the gaming world, the hype and tension reaches manic levels, in England these levels will be at there highest at the end of November, when the two consoles launch, Xbox One on November 22nd, and Playstation 4 a week later.
The Playstation 4 seems to be winning most gamers for this generation, for the launch at least. A lot of this comes down to the price of the Playstation 4, which massively undercut the Xbox One, mainly due to the inclusion of the Kinect with the Xbox, this combined with policies that Microsoft proposed at the initial stages of the consoles reveal, which for the most part, have now been revoked, mean that Sony has really won a lot of gamers over.
Despite this I will be getting an Xbox One at launch, I think when you are choosing a new console there are two things that you should take into account, aside from the hardware itself, firstly the games, which console has the better launch titles,and which is more likely to have the better exclusives in the long term, I think Xbox wins this hands down, i’m a huge Forza Motorsport fan and i cannot wait to get my hands on that, Dead Rising looks incredible, and in the long term Halo, Destiny, and Titanfall are all games that have the potential to define this generation.
Secondly, and most importantly, what are your friends getting? It’s you and your friends that make the whole experience so good, so no matter what the flaws might be, if you are playing with your mates, the experience is always going to be a great one, bring on the next generation!
